Following an intensive 3 years of testing, the Steracryl range of Crown trade paints with SteriTouch liquid additive has hit the shelves.

Aimed at Primary Care Trusts and other healthcare settings, Steracryl reduces levels of MRSA by 99.99% and also prevents mould, extending redecoration cycles and therefore keeping costs down. 

Field studies in a maternity unit even showed a reduction in MRSA in areas surrounding the painted surface, an exciting discovery indicating that infection levels in surrounding areas may decrease as a direct result of using the antimicrobial paint.

Scrub testing demonstrated a 400% increase in resistance to wet scrubbing compared to conventional vinyl matt, reducing costs associated with redecoration whilst protecting against harmful bacteria. 

Steracryl is currently available as trade paint
suitable for food preparation areas, public
buildings and NHS wards, with plans to
extend the range in future.
